Abingdon on Thames
Abingdon is a historic and elegant Market Town within the county of Oxfordshire. Many lovely attractions are held within the area. Such as, the exploration of the Abingdon Museum. A building dating back to 1678, that with holds incredible pieces of information and artefacts, including the vast history of the Monks and their relation to Abingdon. A prime attraction within the museum being it’s roof terrace. Take the opportunity to view the beautiful scenery of Abingdon Town from the Roof of the Museum. The Gift Shop and Café is a must stop during a visit, the chance to grab a slice of cake and admire the cosy, Victorian atmosphere is unmissable.


Also, in the heart of Abingdon Town are numerous Pubs and Restaurants that best represent the hearty and historic ambience of Abingdon. Quirky pubs such as the Broad Face, provides traditional Pub food while placing a modern twist on the aesthetic of Abingdon. As well as, the extravagant Riverside View pub that is the Nags Head and lovely restaurants that suit every budget includes, Pablo Longue, The Crown and Thistle Restaurant and many more.
Abingdon is home to numerous, beautifully scenic walks. Such as, a stroll through the Abbey Meadows, across the incredible lock and through town. Giving the opportunity to admire the ancient ruins of the Folly. Options to extend the walk to Oxford is also available.
The locals have placed a favourite upon The White Horse Leisure Centre. A place that is home to facilities for Tennis, Squash, badminton and a sauna. Providing the community with sports activities and events for all ages. Alongside a lovely café just outside the pool to enjoy food and refreshments.
Another much loved attraction is Abingdon’s own Unicorn Theatre. In which two archaic rooms have been transformed into screening rooms as a cinema. The Unicorn Theatre is one of Abingdon’s much loved Medieval buildings and encompasses the Elizabethan-style.
