Faringdon is a quant and historic market town in Oxfordshire. Commonly known for being the perfect stop to access many attractions surrounding it. Such as the Folly Tower, White Horse Hill, boat trips and many Thames walks.


Primarily known for the infamous 100ft Folly Tower. Located upon the Folly hill, it is surrounded by 4 acres of woodland. Some trees within this are known to be older than 200 years, marking the sacred spot. The hill provides many angles of view of the extraordinary tower and its scenery surrounding it. But Lord Berners initially only built the tower to humorously tease his neighbours. Yet for years to come it proved its usefulness.
Another breath-taking experience would be a walk along White Horse Hill. Including the ancient statue of a horse lying deep into the trenches of the hill, across acres of land. The ever changing scenery is boundless. As quoted by the National Trust, the horse is thought to be over 3000 years old and received its name from the association with the legend of St George. The location proves to be the perfect dog walk, picnic stop and family adventure. Another fantastic feature to the White Horse Hill is the Britchcombe Farm campsite. Located at the bottom of the hill, spend a weekend exploring the land and stopping for tea and freshly baked goods in the farms delightful tea rooms.
